Delete a Role
This page explains how administrators can permanently delete a Role in Revvy when it is no longer needed.
Overview
Roles may become obsolete as your team structure changes or when duplicate roles exist. Deleting a role removes it from the system and ensures it can no longer be assigned to groups or users.
⚠️ Important: Deleting a role will affect any groups linked to it. Users in those groups will immediately lose the permissions defined by the deleted role. Always confirm dependencies before proceeding.
Steps to Delete a Role
Navigate to the Roles page at https://global.revvy.io/roles.
Locate the role you want to remove (e.g., QAReviewer).
Click on the role name to open the Role Overview page.
Select Delete in the top-right corner.
Confirm the action when prompted.
Once confirmed, the role is permanently removed from Revvy.
Example
If your team no longer uses a dedicated QAReviewer role, you can delete it after reassigning those users to another appropriate role (e.g., Release Manager). This prevents unused or duplicate roles from cluttering your RBAC model.
Best Practices
Check group associations – Ensure no critical users are tied to the role before deletion.
Reassign first – Move users to another group/role before deleting.
Document removals – Keep a record of deleted roles for compliance and governance.
