Assign Users to Groups
Explains how administrators can add users to groups so they inherit role-based permissions
Overview
After creating a group in the Global Console, the next step is to populate it with users. Groups work as containers tied to a role, and by assigning users to a group, you automatically apply that role’s permissions to all members. This simplifies Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), ensuring consistency and reducing administrative overhead.
Viewing Group Details
Navigate to the Groups page at https://global.revvy.io/groups.
Click on a group name (e.g., SystemAdministrator ).
The Group Overview page displays:
Group Name, Role, and Description
Created/Updated timestamps
Current members and their details (name, email, last updated)
This page is your single view to manage who belongs to the group.
Adding Users to a Group
From the Group Overview page, click Edit.
In the Users section, click Add User.
Search for and select the user(s) you want to add.
Click Save to confirm changes.
Once saved, the user will appear in the list of group members and immediately inherit the permissions of the group’s role.
Best Practices
Always assign users through groups rather than directly through roles — this keeps your RBAC model scalable.
Use descriptive group names (e.g., System Administrators, Release Managers, QA Team) so membership is easy to audit.
Regularly review membership to ensure only the right users retain elevated privileges.
