How to Install the Revvy Connected App for Salesforce

Salesforce recently announced new security policy changes that affect Connected Apps. To stay compliant and ensure seamless integration, all current Revvy users should install the Revvy Connected App in their Salesforce orgs.

This installation is quick, simple, and critical for keeping your Revvy workflows running smoothly.

Why Do You Need to Install the Revvy Connected App?

While your existing Revvy connections are unlikely to be affected right away, any new connections—whether by new users, new sandboxes, or additional Salesforce orgs—will require the Revvy Connected App to be installed.

Without this step, you may encounter errors such as:

Connected app OAuth App blocked

Because the Connected App cannot be installed or deployed through the Metadata API, this process must be done manually.

Installation Steps

For any Salesforce org that you use with Revvy, ask a System Administrator to complete these steps:

  1. Go to Setup → Connected Apps OAuth Usage.

  2. Find Revvy DevOps in the list.

  3. If you see Install, click it. If you see Uninstall, the app is already installed—no action needed.

  1. Once installed, open the app’s settings and ensure the policy is set to: “Admin approved users are pre-authorized.

  1. After installation, you’ll see the app listed in

  • Manage Connected Apps

  • Connected Apps OAuth Usage

To re-authenticate, click Unblock, then re-authenticate the org from Global.revvy.io → Connections. Note: Once unblocked, the connected app will no longer be visible in the managed connected apps list.

Troubleshooting

If you’re having issues logging into Revvy or connecting an org, double-check the policy settings:

  1. Go to Setup → Connected Apps OAuth Usage.

  2. Select Manage App Policies for the Revvy Connected App.

  1. Check the Permitted Users setting: All users may self-authorize → Revvy works as before; any user can connect. Admin approved users are pre-authorized → Only users explicitly granted access can connect.

If the second option is chosen, you’ll need to explicitly grant users access.

How to Grant Access to Users

If “Admin approved users are pre-authorized” is enabled, users won’t automatically have access to the Revvy Connected App. You’ll need to allow them using either profiles or permission sets.

Option 1: Add Profiles

  • From the app settings, select Manage Profiles.

  • Choose the profiles that should have access (e.g., System Administrator).

  • Save changes.

Users with those profiles will now be able to connect to Revvy.

Option 2: Add a Permission Set

  1. Create a Permission Set (e.g., Revvy DevOps Access).

  2. In the Permission Set, go to Assigned Connected Apps.

  3. Click Edit Assigned Connected Apps.

  4. Move the Revvy DevOps Connected App to the Enabled Connected Apps panel.

  5. Save changes.

  6. Assign this Permission Set to approved users under Manage Assignments.

Now, when you view the app in Manage Connected Apps, you’ll see the Permission Set listed.

Wrapping Up

That’s it! Installing the Revvy Connected App takes less than a minute and ensures you won’t be caught off guard by Salesforce’s security changes.

By completing this step, you’ll keep your integrations running smoothly and avoid unexpected errors when connecting orgs to Revvy.
